Kenneth Reynolds Jr. AKA Playa K, born November 17, 1980 raised in Atlanta Georgia.
ATLien Playa K is not new to the music industry. His path started in 1999 with family ran Independent Record label Centerpiece Records. He has shared the stage with names like DJ Unk, Chyna Whyte, Yo Gotti, Mac Bre-Z, Lil Jon and many more. Centerpiece Records released several albums with Playa k (and his comrades Murder Mark and The Grim Reaper) during their 6 year run including a 2 part DVD entitled “Rags 2 Riches” (on the right). Playa K gained regional exposure with his CD “You Made Me with his smash hit “Good Money”. Playa K never looked back following the success of his labor and appreciation from his fans.
After the loss of his father in 2006, (Ken Reynolds Sr.) Playa K slowed his momentum to reflect where he’s been and where he needed to go.
It wasn’t long before he signed a deal with newly formed independent record label Official Entertainment & Media. Since his signing, Playa K has come back on the scene stronger than ever. Recently he has enjoyed the fruits of his labor with his remix of Travis Porter’s “Make It Rain”. Playa K’s remix entitled “Umma Buy A Plane” has gotten the attention of V103’s Greg Street and has generated heavy airplay along with live interviews and a spoof video with an appearance by comedian Shawty Shawty. The videos have done exceptionally well with over 22,000 views on Youtube and over 16,000 on WorldStar Hip Hop. You can see “behind the scenes” footage of the video HERE.
His next projects include a mixtape hosted by V103’s Greg Street and an upcoming movie starting Shawty Shawty. Both projects are in production and will certainly be worth the wait. Stay Tuned!
Rags 2 Riches DVD (vols 1 & 2)
In 2004 Centerpiece Records released the first of 2 DVDs entitled “Rags 2 Riches”. The DVDs featured Playa K in his entire splendor. Both DVDs featured uncensored, uncut and unrehearsed footage of real life situations of the music industry, home life, the grind to reach the top, steamy VIP footage and dynamic live show footage. The rawness of these 2 DVD’s was not intended for the youngsters due to the shock value of its contents.
2013 – Player K is currently on tour with Rich Homie Quan
